An example of the restoration work possibilities, mindful of the historic and sentimental value of each instrument. A 1952 Zephyr Emperor Regent came into the shop in rough shape — shrunken neck and body binding, stripped finish, and faulty electronics. Bobby brought it back to life, meticulously repairing the electronics, recreating the original binding to exact specs, refretting, and applying a honey-toned nitrocellulose finish that honors its vintage roots. This is what archival restoration means: preserving history while making an instrument sing again.
